Are you struggling with Past Trauma? Are you unsure of how to handle your depression and or anxiety? Studies show that seeking therapy can help you find coping skills and alleviate your depression or anxiety. During COVID, therapists and medical doctors have seen a increase in depression and anxiety. Reaching out and talking is a way to begin to heal. We are here to help! We value our clients and take time to work with them individually to find what they are needing in therapy. Understanding the type of therapist you need is also valuable to us. We want to place you with the best fit.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapists use techniques and skills that have been proven to reduce depression, anxiety and a assortment of mental health problems you might be facing. A CBT therapist will work with you on understanding your past and how that is affecting your current state of thought. While working through this, you will be learning skills that can help you with faulty thinking, learning to recognize one’s distortions in thinking that are creating problems, and then to reevaluate them in light of reality. Gaining a better understanding of the behavior and motivation of others. Using problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations. Learning to develop a greater sense of confidence in one’s own abilities.

While Dialectical Behavior Therapy, works with the client on acceptance and change using a set of skills. DBT therapist work with four main points   mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. EMDR therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes.
