Tara Towler-Cumby is the owner and founder of the practice and is widely known by her clients as “the homework therapist.” She is a licensed and nationally certified professional counselor with extensive experience in trauma-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and clinical evaluation.

Tara specializes in working with women navigating life transitions, motherhood, postpartum depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, infertility, pregnancy loss, and termination. As a mother of two and someone who has personally experienced infertility, Tara brings both clinical expertise and lived experience into her work, allowing clients to feel deeply understood and supported.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and IFS, helping clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns while developing emotional insight and resilience. Tara strongly believes that meaningful change happens between sessions, which is why she encourages clients to actively engage in therapeutic “homework” to maximize growth and long-term results.

With over 20 years of experience working with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, postpartum issues, and major life changes, Tara provides a thoughtful, structured, and compassionate approach to therapy. She earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University and is trained in CBT, TF-CBT, trauma-informed care, CMAC, CPCS, and IFS.

Tara also serves as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) and offers APC group supervision on Mondays at 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM.

Supervision Rate: $65 per group session

Rates: $225–$250 per session
